Timeline:
2015: Former developer, Diane Polangin, runs on an unauthorized slate: funded by developers, lobbyists and major commercial/residential realtors. Wins election to represent residents of District 2.
2016: over 1,000 residents sign the "No Marketplace Apartments" petition, hundreds of "No Marketplace Apartment" signs pop-up around District 2, hundreds of residents testify against residential development at Marketplace and Melford - pleading with Diane Polangin to think about how it will adversely impact the community.
Early 2017: Despite the adverse impact it would have on her constituents: Polangin sides with the developers, their money, and votes in FAVOR of residential development at Melford, and Marketplace. Her vote gives Berman Enterprise and St. John Properties permission to break Bowie City Code traffic and residential density allowances.
Bowie Citizens for Accountable Government is born.
October 2017: More than 3,000 Bowie residents sign the Recall Petition telling Diane Polangin that she deserves to be removed from her position for not listening to her constituents.
December 2017: 70% of District 2 votes to RECALL Diane Polangin, and remove her from elected office.
Present Day: Diane Polangin continues to prove that she is out of touch with her constituents, ignores their wishes, and files to run AGAIN for the vacancy in District 2. Puts up signs alongside developers.
Diane Polangin does not represent the citizens of Bowie. She is part of a voting bloc that ONLY represents the interests of developers.
District 2: On Monday, March 12: Vote for the only candidate endorsed by Bowie Citizens for Accountable Government.
